Overview of our Connectivity Resources

The San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) has compiled the following catalog of Internet service providers and their offerings for students and families in need of broadband access for distance learning. SDCOE has negotiating special contracts with many of these providers to reduce costs and streamline the sign-up and installation process. Please note that the intended audience for this webpage are school district and charter school administrators who seek to meet the connectivity needs of students who are currently not connected, or are under-connected, here in San Diego county.

Cable Connections

Best for Families and Students who:

Families who are in the service areas for COX or Spectrum (see service maps) and who are not planning to move residences in the next 12 months.

View Offer

To qualify for the Cox Connect2Compete affordable internet program, the household must have at least one K-12 student and participate in a government assistance program. Applicants may need to provide documentation eligibility. Your school district or charter school can provide the proof of eligibility.

Spectrum Internet Assist

View Offer

To qualify for the Spectrum Internet Assist affordable internet program, the household must have at least one K-12 student and participate in a government assistance program. Applicants will need to provide documentation eligibility. Your school district or charter school can provide the proof of eligibility.

Cellular Connections
 
Best for Families and Students who:

Families without cable service, in areas with strong cellular service or who may be planning to move residences in the next 12 months.

Verizon Map Coverage

No pre-qualification is necessary. You must reside in a Verizon 4G LTE coverage area. This is a subsidized service contracted through SDCOE, your school district or charter school program.  

 

Satellite Connections

Best for Families and Students who:

Families in rural areas of San Diego County without reliable cable, DSL or cellular service and who are not planning to move residences in the next 12 months.
